Armed with clever team names, fundraising gimmicks and decorated rocking chairs, Bethany residents and associates rocked for a cause a few days before the Walk to End Alzheimer’s held on City Island in Harrisburg. All teams had one goal in mind, for their team to raise the most money for a cause near and dear to many friends and family in the community.
Campus-wide, 13 teams and over 145 participants rocked continuously from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each team decorated a rocking chair and sold baked goods, Lobster bisque, soft pretzels, fudge, and hot dogs to raise additional funds. One team even held a thrift sale and raffle! See the photo album below.
The Whitefield Lunch Bunch was victorious this year, bringing in $1,359.74. As their prize, the team will enjoy a gourmet appetizer party hosted by our very own Admissions Director, Jamie Yockin.
The day after, some of the decorated chairs were auctioned off to benefit Benevolent Care. Click here for more information on Benevolent Care at Bethany.
Overall the events raised $5,275.58. What an amazing show of generosity throughout!
