Accreditation

One of the most important ways that Asbury shows its dedication to quality and accountability is through its long-time participation in the only national accreditation program for continuing care retirement communities. Because of this commitment, Bethany Village is among just 17 percent of continuing care retirement communities nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities-Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC). This designation means that an independent survey team has evaluated Bethany Village and found it in compliance with more than 600 measures of quality, including financial indicators that relate to a community’s long-term viability. Once a community has earned accreditation, it participates in a review of financial indicators each year and accommodates an on-site evaluation by a survey team every five years.

In 2011, Asbury deepened its commitment to CARF-CCAC by developing a system-wide approach to accreditation. Beginning in 2012, all five Asbury communities – including Bethany Village – will embark on the same five-year cycle of accreditation. By embracing this approach, Asbury communities will accelerate their learning, with each community challenging and supporting the others to improve processes and better serve those who call Asbury home.

Based in Washington, D.C., CARF-CCAC is a not-for-profit organization and part of a family of organizations overseen by CARF International, which currently accredits more than 47,000 programs and services at more than 20,000 locations on five continents. More information is available from CARF International at www.CARF.org.

Bethany Village is also proud of its affiliation with the EAGLE Accreditation Commission, which is designed for faith-based, health and wholeness organizations to enhance the quality of services provided. EAGLE utilizes voluntary self-assessment and peer review processes based upon principals and goals to promote excellence in Christian ministry.
