Brain Boosting Summer Smoothie

Enjoy this healthy summer drink recipe courtesy of the chefs at Bethany Village.

Just in time for summer, your taste buds and your brain will thank you when you make this delicious smoothie, which features a key brain-boosting fruit, the blueberry.

While you enjoy your drink, read our certified brain fitness expert's five steps to a happier, healthier brain.

 


½ large banana, frozen
2 to 3 strawberries, sliced
¼ cup fresh blueberries
½ cup low fat milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. greek vanilla yogurt
2 ice cubes

Directions: Peel the banana, break into half or thirds, and then freeze for at least three hours. If using frozen berries, omit the ice cubes. Add all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. If you prefer sweeter smoothies, add one tablespoon of honey.
